You may have thought what Feng Shui approach is best for me, as there are many different schools and methods of Feng Shui being practiced out there today. It can be very confusing for those whom desire to learn more about what Feng Shui is and how best to apply it in their environments correctly. As a Certified Feng Shui Consultant and Holistic Interior Expert many clients hire me specifically as I have trained in all the schools of Feng Shui.
First off, it is important to recognize that many Feng Shui schools do recognize and implement many common principles. All schools support and recognize good architecturally designed dwellings, harmonious furniture placement, the balancing of the yin and yang energies as well as balancing of the five elements of water, wood, fire, earth and metal in an environment.
As a professional Feng Shui Consultant I get asked by clients how can so many different practices being used by Feng Shui practitioners get positive results, as at times many approaches conflict with each other? The simple answer is a person’s belief system, their personal intention and applying the best applications that rings truest to them in their environments. In medicine, we are all aware that NOT all medical remedies work the same for all types of patients. Some people do well on one medication while others will have major adverse reactions to the same remedy. Well the same is true for Feng Shui in my professional experience, not all specific methods work exactly the same for all different types of people. This is why it is important to hire a professional if you desire to get the best results possible. This is why I also offer Holistic Interior Design consultations within my practice because not everyone is comfortable with the term “Feng Shui”, as there are many misconceptions about Feng Shui out there today.
In my opinion, the truth lies in the positive results you experience in applying a particular method that feels right in your home and a professional consultant can help you make the right choices based on your unique floor plan, belief systems, decor preference, lifestyle and goals.
Here is an example, lets say your are deathly afraid of frogs and your best friend reads a Feng Shui book and tells you that you MUST put a money frog in your home if you really want to increase your business success. Well I am here to tell you if you hate to see frogs and they really frighten you this is definitely NOT going to be the most powerful Feng Shui application you can use to enhance your success. History has taught us in the past that in having an inflexibility in terms of ongoing learning and knowledge in any particular field limits the possibilities of finding truth. Everyone creates their reality based on both their unconscious and conscious beliefs. This statement is both a scientific and metaphysical fact.
If you feel extremely uncomfortable designing your home with a bunch of Chinese looking items or using only compass directions you can choose rather to design your space taking into consideration a more Holistic approach. If you were raised in a family or culture that believes that the only right way to Feng Shui your home is through your birthdate and compass directions then follow the approach that is getting the best results for you. It is important each client’s cultural beliefs are recognized and honored by whatever Feng Shui practitioner they hire.
